NanoKnife Irreversible Electroporation educational program

Event Description

Explore the latest advances in focal prostate cancer therapy during the Focal Therapy Master Course on Saturday, Oct. 10, in Houston. This interactive, hands-on program will feature UTHealth Houston urologist Steven Canfield, MD, and Dr. Spencer Krane, who will share their clinical experience and case results using the NanoKnife System (irreversible electroporation, or IRE) as a primary therapy, a salvage option following radiation failure, and in patients who later undergo radical prostatectomy.

Attendees will participate in a debate comparing NanoKnife focal therapy with robot-assisted radical prostatectomy, review approaches to optimal patient selection and procedural planning, and gain hands-on experience with the VirtaMed Prostate Simulator through simulated NanoKnife cases. The course also will provide insight into developing a NanoKnife program at participants’ own institutions. A small dinner gathering for attendees arriving Friday evening will be held at the hotel.

Date: Oct. 9-10
Location: Hotel ZaZa Houston, 5701 Main St., Houston
Registration: Register for the Focal Therapy Master Course
