I. POLICY AND GENERAL STATEMENT

The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston ("University") provides incentives to employees to use various alternative forms of transportation between the employee’s home and the Texas Medical Center (“TMC”) under its Mobility Program.

To be eligible to participate in the Mobility Program, an employee must:

  • be a 1.0 FTE employee;
  • commute from home to work and work to home at least four days per week via the Mobility Program's options; and,
  • forfeit any existing parking contracts held with the University the TMC or any other TMC entity. (The driver of a van pool will retain a parking contract.)

Employees may not use their Mobility Program benefits to drive into the TMC area or park in local merchant parking lots (including the METRO Fannin South Transit Center) and then ride the Rail or a Local METRO route.

An employee who is found to be misusing the program will be dropped from the program. Depending upon the nature of the misuse, the employee may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
