The goal of the Veteran Community Network is to bring together veterans and their supporters by sharing information about relevant current events and news stories, as well as upcoming networking and volunteer opportunities that support the veteran community. The network is open to all employees and students who are veterans or active service members, their spouses or dependents, and any employees or students who consider themselves to be supporters of the military.
UTHealth partners with Operation Gratitude on Veterans Day to write letters of gratitude for Deployed Troops, Veterans, Wounded Heroes & Caregivers, and Recruit Graduates.
Members of the UTHealth Veteran Community Network and their families participate in Wreaths Across America at the Houston National Cemetery every December, where wreaths are laid across the headstones of those who served in our armed forces.
UTHealth hosted a network opportunity for veterans and family members to prepare 100 care packages to actively deployed service members.
