If you are a veteran, you may be eligible for Veteran’s Employment Preference. Protected veterans and eligible family members are given preference during the recruitment process when they designate as such on their employment application.

  • An individual currently serving in the guard or reserves
  • A recently separated veteran
  • A veteran’s surviving spouse who has not remarried
  • An orphan of a veteran (if the veteran was killed while on active duty)
  • An active duty wartime or campaign badge veteran
  • An Armed Forces service medal veteran

UTHealth offers a Military Skills Translator tool that helps candidates translate their military experience using their Military Occupational Code (MOC) or job title to relevant positions at UTHealth.
