2026 Educational Awards applications now open

March 02, 2026

Applications for the 2026 UTHealth Houston University Classified Staff Council Educational Awards program opened March 1 and will close on March 31.

The program represents a meaningful investment in the families of the university’s workforce, providing financial support to graduating high school seniors whose parents are classified staff members at the university.

Eligibility and timeline

The application process begins with the eligible classified staff parent, who must have been employed by UTHealth Houston for at least one year. The parent initiates the process by submitting a nomination through the university’s online portal. Once nominated, the student receives an email invitation to log in using their Google email account and complete the application.

Application requirements

A completed application must include:

  • High school transcript
  • SAT or ACT scores
  • Resume highlighting volunteer work, honors, awards, and extracurricular activities
  • Acceptance letter from an accredited U.S. college or university
  • A one-page essay outlining career goals
  • Two letters of reference from professionals, such as a teacher, counselor, or employer
  • A signed W-9 form to ensure timely processing of award funds
  • A photograph (graduation photos preferred)

After submission, applications undergo a review and approval process. Once all required materials are verified, students will receive an email confirmation indicating their application is complete and under review.
