Tsusaki inducted into Fellows of American Association of Nurse Practitioners

Rebecca Tsusaki, PhD, APRN-CNP, WHNP-BC, an assistant professor of graduate studies at Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth Houston, was inducted as a fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners during the association’s national conference June 25.
The respected designation recognizes leaders in the field for their outstanding contributions to education, policy, clinical practice, and research. Fellows works to advance the nurse practitioner role, develop future leaders, and strengthen the mission of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
“I’m honored to join this esteemed community of more than 1,000 fellows whose sustained contributions have advanced the nurse practitioner profession and improved health outcomes nationally and globally,” Tsusaki said.
Tsusaki was one of 59 nurse practitioners inducted this year. As a fellow, she will lend her professional expertise as a reviewer, topical expert, committee member, journal contributor, mentor, and more.
“Becoming an AANP fellow is a pinnacle achievement for a nurse practitioner, and Dr. Tsusaki is well-deserving of this honor,” said Diane Santa Maria, DrPH, MSN, RN, ACRN, dean of Cizik School of Nursing, as well as the nursing school’s Huffington Foundation Endowed Chair in Nursing Education Leadership and The Jane and Robert Cizik Distinguished Chair. “We are grateful for her contributions not only to nursing education and science, but also for the excellent care she provides to her patients.”
Tsusaki has over 25 years of nursing experience, specializing in women’s and infant health, and pediatric and adult postoperative care. She serves in the Department of Graduate Studies at the Cizik School of Nursing.
