I have completed my PhD in Life Sciences from Jawaharlal Nehru University in 2021 from her home country, India and joined UTHealth McGovern Medical School as a postdoctoral fellow. I am an outgoing person who enjoys travelling and exploring new things, an ardent nature lover and a foodie too!! Currently, I am quite excited to enter a completely new research area and learning things from that !!

Research

At UTHealth, I will be working on Alzheimer, a neurodegenerative disease which is one of the major cause of Dementia. My work deals with Drosophila Melanogaster and mouse as our model organism. One of the major cause of Alzheimer are the Tau tangles. When prevalent in neurons, they have to be removed and degraded prior to spreading. Here, I will be studying an interesting mechanism where the alterations in neuronal membrane potential preferentially alters membrane lipid dynamics and that in turn help resolving the the Tau-Alzheimer axis.
