UTHealth Houston Cares Health Fair Impacts Local Community

Student volunteers and clinicians from UTHealth Houston came together to deliver no-cost health screenings and resources to underserved neighborhoods through the UTHealth Houston Cares Community Health Fair March 28 at the UT Physicians Multispecialty – Victory clinic.

The impact of community health initiatives was powerfully demonstrated on Saturday, March 22, at the UTHealth Houston Cares Community Health Fair, a student-led health fair in its sixth year. Sixteen-year-old Sarahi Perla confirmed what she suspected – blindness in one eye – through an examination she might never have otherwise received.

Salutation: Back to School Student Mixer

New and returning students celebrated the start of the fall semester at Salutation Sept. 18. They enjoyed food, games, connection, and a chance to hear from and meet university leadership, including President Melina Kibbe, MD.

Students pitch solutions to expand care in Harris County

More than 50 students from across UTHealth Houston came together for the 2026 Healthcare Innovation Challenge, where 12 interdisciplinary teams pitched creative, community-focused solutions to expand access to care in Harris County.
