I⋅M⋅UT: A New UTHealth Hotline

Crisis Hotline 713-500-IMUT (4688) is a freeimmediate way to get help for you or a friend or a colleague in crisis.

I⋅M⋅UT is part of a campus-wide Bystander Initiative program set up to support staff and student mental healthwellness, and safety. With I⋅M⋅UT, students now have free, round-the-clock access to professionals trained to help with assessment, referrals, intervention, and crisis management. Behavioral health and wellness experts at I⋅M⋅UT can offer real support quickly, effectively, and – if you wish, anonymously – with just a phone call.

  • Currently enrolled UTHealth students can call 713-500-IMUT (4688)  to talk about problems of their own.
  • If you see a fellow student, staff or a colleague experiencing verbal or physical abuse, alcohol or drug problems, bullying or harassment, threats to their safety, or thoughts of self-harm or even suicide.
  • Sometimes we see people struggling with anger issues or mood swings, and we wonder if they may hurt themselves or somebody else.

If you are an UTHealth Faculty or Staff and need help with mental health or other counseling needs, please contact the Employee Assistance Program. Employees can call 713-500-3327. Faculty can call 713-500-3880.

Students at other UT System institutions in need of counseling services should seek help at their respective campus. Links to other campus counseling programs can be found below.
