Global Health Opportunities & Programs

  • Global Health Scholarly Concentration - This provides selected medical students with lectures, journal clubs, clinical and public health experiences, and mentorship. Students also complete a scholarly project and have opportunities for international electives.
  • Pediatric Global Health Program - This program is focused on educating and mentoring pediatric residents, fellows, and faculty members to improve global childhood health through clinical care, education, research, and advocacy.
  • Emergency Medicine Division of Global Health - This division engages in the professional development of faculty and staff with interests in global emergency medicine and humanitarian assistance.
  • Several elective opportunities and faculty-led projects in multiple specialties

Scholarships & Travel Awards

  • The Stanley G. Schultz, MD Student Travel Award in Global Health - The purpose of the Schultz Travel Award is to support travel awards for McGovern Medical students studying and/or interested in global health. Please contact [email protected] for more application information.
  • The Mark Edward Stinson, MD Global Health Student Assistance Fund - The purpose of the Stinson Fund is to provide travel assistance to McGovern Medical students who wish to provide international medical care, provide scholarship for students interested in careers in global health, and to support medical students with an interest in public health informatics and training.
