The UTHealth Houston Office of Academic Administration (OAA) provides support to the university’s education mission by:
- Leading SACSCOC institutional accreditation efforts and ensuring continued compliance with the SACSCOC Principles of Accreditation;
- Partnering with the university’s seven schools on academic degree and certificate program development, approvals, and changes;
- Managing institutional research activities to include internal reporting and benchmarking as well as mandatory reporting to federal, state, and private agencies, such as the U.S. Department of Education, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, the University of Texas System and the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA);
- Managing the university’s institutional assessment/institutional effectiveness program to ensure continuous improvement in areas related to student learning and achievement; and
- Assisting with school-based programmatic accreditation efforts as needed.
