The Cizik Nursing Research Institute is dedicated to advancing nursing science through innovative research, collaboration, and multidisciplinary inquiry. It provides robust organizational support, cutting-edge infrastructure, and evidence-based mentoring programs to empower researchers to conduct impactful, responsive, and rigorous studies addressing the complex health care needs of individuals, families, communities, and populations.

Vision: To lead the nation among academic nursing programs in the conduct of impactful, responsive, and rigorous nursing science.

Mission: To provide organization, infrastructure, and resources that accelerate the growth of collaborative, multidisciplinary science, which informs the practice of nursing.

Based at Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth Houston, Cizik Nursing Research Institute brings together faculty and rich resources from McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, McWilliams School of Biomedical Informatics, UTHealth Houston School of Public Health, and UTHealth Houston School of Behavioral Health Sciences.

The Cizik Nursing Research Institute’s Smart Apartment is designed for testing aging-in-place technology, programs, and other solutions designed to support independent living for older adults and people living with disabilities. Submit a request to conduct research or request a tour.
