Why University Housing?

University Housing consists of two unique apartment communities. The 7900 Cambridge complex was built in 1982 and offers first and second floor units in one, two and three bedroom floor plans. The 1885 El Paseo property, which was built in 2005, is a contemporary style living environment with four floors of one and two bedroom apartments with a four story parking garage located in the middle of the complex.

All students, staff and faculty of the UT Health Science Center, Baylor College of Medicine and MD Anderson Cancer Center are encouraged to apply. Amenities include 24-hour quality maintenance, a commons room, and swimming pool, with close proximity to the Child Development Center, the Recreation Center, and the UTHSC-H shuttle. Each apartment is carpeted and comes equipped with an all-electric kitchen. The El Paseo property offers washers and dryers in each apartment. The Cambridge property offers coin operated washers and dryers housed in three laundry rooms.

Access to both properties is controlled by a 24-hour guard.

Waiting List January 2018

Below are a few things that you will need to know in order to be prepared for the AE-University Housing online waiting list sign-up:

  • The online application will take about 15 minutes in order to answer relevant questions about your status and your desired floor plan choices.

  •  A valid credit card will be required.  No other form of payment will be accepted for online sign-up.

  •  Upon completion of the application and payment, the applicant will receive a system generated E-mail confirming placement on the waiting list.  The applicants waiting list number/s will be sent at a later date.

  • The online waiting list signup will begin on January 12 at 6:00pm.
  •  On January 26th, the online waiting list will be deactivated, and all applicants must sign up on the waiting list thru the Leasing Office.

Auxiliary Enterprises is a division within University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston comprised of all its business entities.
