The mission of Student Financial Services is to provide our students the financial resources necessary to attend The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston) and The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center School of Health Professions (UTMDACC) in a prompt and professional manner.
The Office of Student Financial Services is pleased to announce that we are successfully packaging financial aid awards for summer 2026 students for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year beginning May 18, 2026. Please log on to MyUTH to review your financial aid award and accept any student loan offers you wish to receive for the 2026-2027 award year.
The financial aid disbursement date for summer 2026 students is scheduled for Wednesday, May 13, 2026. However, the recently passed One Big Beautiful Bill Act contains new requirements that will require technical updates to our financial aid software to allow us to disburse Federal loans for the
2026-27 aid year. Our software vendor is currently scheduled to release these updates to us on May 15, 2026; therefore, disbursement of federal student loans should begin to take place in the mid-to late-May 2026 timeframe.
In the interim, additional resources such as grants or scholarship funds will be disbursed to students as scheduled on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, if all spring grades are entered and students are making satisfactory academic progress.
Additional resources:
• Emergency loans are available. If a student opts to receive an emergency loan, they will be required to sign a promissory note and repay the loan after their federal student loans have been disbursed. Information on applying for an emergency loan can be found at this link: https://www.uth.edu/sfs/financial-aid/emergency-loans.htm
• Due to the federal financial aid delay, students who submitted their FAFSA before April 24, 2026, and have accepted their aid offer, will not be assessed late fees for outstanding tuition or fees while the technical issue is being resolved.
Student Loan Regulations: Recent regulatory changes may affect federal student loans. To understand how these updates could impact your individual situation, you are encouraged to contact the Student Financial Services Office. Our staff can provide guidance, answer questions, and share resources to help you navigate these changes. Contact us https://www.uth.edu/sfs/contact.htm.
